The Grand Valley State men's tennis team dropped a close decision to Aquinas on Monday afternoon. The Lakers split with Aquinas in singles play but the Saints took two out of three in doubles play for the victory. GVSU stands at 13-5 on the season and will be in action on Thursday, April 5th when it travels to Ferris State for a GLIAC dual match.

The Lakers got off to a tough start, dropping matches in the top two doubles slots. Aquinas' Mike Rose and Patrick Bruining defeated Adam Sandusky and Tony Dang by an 8-3 count. Also winning for Aquinas were Pat Grashorn and Jordan O'Neil as they took down GVSU's Justin Sauerbrey and Patrick Troy, 8-3. Alex Switzer and Matt Globerson recorded the lone doubles victory for the Lakers, picking up an 8-5 win.

Grand Valley State salvaged a split with Aquinas in singles play. Tony Dang got a win with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 come-from-behind victory in No. 2 singles. Patrick Troy also found the win column with a 6-1, 6-2 defeat of O'Neil. Rounding out the victories for GVSU was Alex Switzer, who won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Adam Sandusky lost in three sets, while Matt Globerson and Justin Sauerbrey were ousted in straight sets.
