The Grand Valley State men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 win over Calvin on Thursday. The Lakers knocked off the Knights in four of six singles matches and two of three doubles matchups on the way to victory. GVSU will host Findlay in its next match on Saturday, March 31 and play host to Mercyhurst on Sunday, April 1.
The Lakers fell in the top two singles slots in three sets, but picked up victories in the other four singles positions. Patrick Troy recorded a 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 win in #3 singles, while Matt Globerson earned a tough 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win over Mike Goorhouse. Brock Plangger won in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, and Alex Switzer was victorious over David Sneller, 6-4, 6-4.
Grand Valley's team of Adam Sandusky and Tony Dang fell in the top doubles slot by an 8-6 count. On the winning side, Troy and Justin Sauerbrey teamed up for a 9-7 win and Globerson and Switzer knocked off Sneller and Steve DeMaagd by a 9-8 (7-5).
