HOLLAND, Mich. - Grand Valley State earned its fifth consecutive victory with a 5-4 win over Hope College on Wednesday at the Dewitt Center. The Lakers are now 11-5 on the season.

In doubles competition, Grand Valley State jumped out to a 2-1 lead. Matt Globerson and Alex Switzer earned a nail-biting 9-8 win at second doubles and Philipp Claus and Pat Snyder teamed up for an easier 8-3 win in the third spot.

Claus and Swizter both earned singles points, as well. Claus won 6-1, 6-2 at third singles and Switzer defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-3 in the fifth slot. In the sixth flight of singles, Jeff Globerson picked up the deciding point with a 6-2, 6-1 win.

GVSU is now 108-62 (.635) in singles play and 56-29 (.659) in doubles play.
