GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell 6-3 to Calvin College in a Western Michigan matchup at the Huizenga Tennis & Track Center on Wednesday. The Lakers earned one singles point and two doubles points, while falling to 6-4 on the season.

Senior Tony Dang was the lone Laker to pick up a point in singles competition, as he defeated his opponent at No. 1 singles by the score of 6-1, 6-1. Freshman Marc Roesslein put up a valiant effort in the No. 2 spot, but ended up on the wrong side of a 6-7 (4-6), 7-5, 7-5 final.

In doubles play, senior Alex Switzer and junior Brock Plangger teamed up to win the second flight of doubles by the score of 8-6. In the third spot, it was freshman Michael Coupek and junior Matt Globerson that picked up a close 9-8 (6-4) decision.

The Lakers are now 80-54 (.597) in singles competition and 41-26 (.612) in doubles competition. In dual play, they have compiled a 33-27 (.550) record in singles and a mark of 17-12 (.586) in doubles.
