The GVSU men's tennis team recorded an 8-1 victory over Hope College on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The Lakers swept doubles play and took five of six singles matchups en route to the win. With the victory, the Lakers improve to 5-2 on the year. Next up for the Lakers is their spring break trip to Orlando Fla., which begins on March 6th.

In doubles play, the team of Justin Sauerbrey and Patrick Troy won their fourth match in a row with an 8-4 victory. Alex Switzer and Matt Globerson also reocrded their fourth straight victory with a win in the No. 3 doubles slot. Adam Sandusky and Tony Dang rounded out the sweep with a win in the top doubles slot.

In singles action, Adam Sandusky won his match by a 6-3, 6-2 count. Freshman Matt Globerson also won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. In the No. 6 spot, Alex Switzer was victorious over his opponent, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Tony Dang won by retirement, while Patrick Troy was the lone Laker to fall, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.
