The Lakers continued their winning ways with an 8-1 victory over Southern Indiana on Sunday. GVSU swept doubles competition and took five of the six singles matchups from USI. The Lakers improve their record to 4-2 on the season with a three-match winning streak. GVSU will take on Hope College on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in one more match before their spring break trip.

The Lakers got off to a quick start against the Screaming Eagles taking all three doubles matches. Adam Sandusky and Tony Dang recorded an 8-2 win over Christoph Burger and Bodene Scott. The team of Justin Sauerbrey and Patrick Troy won its third match in a row by an 8-5 count. Also victorious for GVSU was Alex Switzer and Matt Globerson, who notched an 8-3 win in No. 3 doubles.

In singles action, every Laker victory was recorded in straight sets. Tony Dang defeated Andrew McGuire, 6-0, 6-2. Patrick Troy made quick work of his opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Brock Plangger netted a 6-2, 6-2 win in No. 4 singles. Matt Globerson got by with a 6-1, 6-2 victory and Alex Switzer won by retirement.
