Wheaton, Ill. - Grand Valley State claimed top honors at the Wheaton Invitational with a two-day total of 881.5 points. The Lakers outdistanced second-place Washington University by 136 points (745.5).

The Lakers' 200 medley relay team of Evan Kobes, Hans Hill, Aaron Beebe and Jeremy Sall finished first in a DII automatic qualifying mark time of 1:32.58. Evan Kobes claimed first-place honors in the 100 back with a time of 50.67. Kobes met the DII automatic qualifying mark with a time of 50.62 in the morning prelims. Jeremy Sall (51.01) and Jordan Schrotenboer (53.04) finished second and third in the 100 back behind Kobes. Hans Hill hit the A standard in the 200 breast prelims (2:05.87) and finished second in the finals, while Aaron Beebe and Jeremy Sall touched in an identical time of 50.71 in the 100 fly to tie for second. Schrotenboer touched third in the 200 free (1:41.91) and Jeff Pauza was third in the 1650 free (16:28.46). GVSU's 400 free relay team touched second in a time of 3:05.89.
