Justin Pattermann won the 200 and 400 Yard IMs

Muncie, Ind. - The Lakers men's Swimming and Diving team posted 621.5 points to earn second-place at the invitational, finishing ahead of Findlay (268 points), but behind host Ball State University (849.5 points).

The Lakers started the meet off strong, winning the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. Sophomore Matt Witkowski, sophomore Aaron Renton, freshman Jordan Schrotenboer and junior Evan Kobes finished the race in 1:27.47.

Freshman Jeff Pauza was victorious in the 500-yard Freestyle and the 1650-yard Freestyle, tearing through the water to finish in 4:48.35 and 16:46.80, respectively.

Freshman Justin Pattermann also tacked on a win in the 200-yard IM (1:57.70) as Justin Schrotenboer followed, placing second (2:00.16). Pattermann was also victorious in the 400-yard IM (4:14.35). Later, Schrotenboer added another win for the Lakers, finishing the 200-yard Backstroke in 1:57.47.

Matt Witkowski was no. 1 in the 200-yard Freestyle (1:43.76) and the 100-yard Freestyle (47.28) and earned second in the 500-yard Freestyle (21.87).

Hans Hill was victorious in the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:13.54) and tacked on a second-place finish in the 100-yard Breaststroke (1:01.19).

Junior Ian Naumann added a win during the 200-yard Butterfly (1:57.27), while Justin Pattermann followed, finishing second (1:59.31).
 

 

Jordan Schrotenboer earned first-place in the 100-yard Backstroke (53.48), while Evan Kobes followed, placing second (53.55).

On the board, Evan Betts won the 1-meter dive (263.70) and second-place in the 3-meter dive (277.90 points). Freshman Patrick VanDommelen handed in a second-place finish in the 3-meter dive (231.10 points), while also earning third-place in the 1-meter dive (232.30 points).

The men's relay teams were impressive taking first place finishes in three out of the four events. Jordan Schrotenboer, Hans Hill, Justin Pattermann, and Matt Witkowski took first place in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:32.24). Evan Kobes, Hans Hill, Justin Pattermann, and Aaron Renton placed second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (1:38.38). In the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, Jordan Schrotenboer, Kyle Burgher, Justin Pattermann, and Matt Witkowski earned first place (7:07.70). The Lakers wrapped up Invitational with the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, where Jordan Schrotenboer, Jeff Pauza, Justin Pattermann, and Matt Witkowski were victorious (3:12.32).
