Houston, Tex. - The Grand Valley State men's swimming and diving team is 9th with 95 points after two days of competition at the 2009 NCAA DII Men's Swimming & Diving Championships in Houston, Texas. Wayne State leads the way with 232.5 points. Day three will begin with Friday morning prelims.
Two Laker relays earned All-America honors on day two. The 400 individual medley relay team of Evan Kobes, Hans Hill, Jeremy Sall and Matt Witkowski reached the Championship final and finished 7th in a time of 3:18.59. GVSU's 200 free relay team of Kobes, Witkowski, Jon Beardsley and Sall touched in 1:21.87 and finished ninth.
Justin Patterman finished 21st in the 400 individual medlay (4:04.05), while Sall was 18th in the 100 butterfly (49.36). Witkowski was 18th in the 200 free (1:40.21), followed by Kyle Burgher in 20th (1:40.33), Beardsley in 22nd (1:40.58) and Jordan Schrotenboer in 23rd (1:40.96).
