Canton, Ohio - Grand Valley State is seventh after scoring 46 points on the opening day of the 2010 NCAA Championships. Drury leads the way with 79 points. The 2010 NCAA DII Swimming & Diving Championships will run through Saturday, Mar. 13.

Sophomore Aaron Beebe (Grand Haven, Mich.) set a school record with his 13th-place finish in the 1000 freestyle when he touched the wall in 9:24.77. Beebe bettered the previous mark of 9:36.69 set by David Hayhow. Junior Justin Pattermann (Elburn, Ill./East Kaneland) finished seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.57, while the Lakers' 200 medley relay team of Raphael Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Hans Hill (Columbus, Ohio/St. Charles Prep), Pattermann and senior Matt Witkowski (South Lyon, Mich.) finished fourth in a time of 1:30.66.
