High School: Prepped at Forest Hills Central under coach Dennis Neat...Named most valuable rookie as a freshman...As a sophomore, he was a conference champion and finished fifth overall at state...In his junior year, he was named all-state in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley while being named all-conference and all-state as his team finished fourth in the state meet...As a senior, he was a state champion in the 100 fly, named all-conference, all-state, all-American, and academic all-American as he led his team to a fourth place state finish...Also participated in cross country and soccer.
