Bay City, Mich. - For the second straight week, a Grand Valley State golfer was named GLIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week as senior Travis Shooks earned the award after capturing the individual medal at the Findlay Invite.

The award comes on the heels of sophomore Chris Cunningham winning the award last week after his GLIAC Championship performance.

Shooks won his first tournament of the season at the Findlay Invite, carding two straight 70’s for a 140 total to four-under par. Shooks won the tournament by two strokes and has two top-ten finishes. His efforts helped lead GVSU to their second consecutive team victory as the Lakers won by nine strokes, recording rounds of 293 and 290.

The Laker men's golf team is now off until the spring season begins.
