South Haven, Mich. - Grand Valley State shot an opening round 300 (+12) and currently stands in a tie for 7th at the Great Lakes Fall Regional. Bellarmine leads the way after shooting a 293, while Ferris State is in second (294). The tournament is taking place at HawksHead Golf Course in South Haven, Michigan.

GVSU's Matt Johnson is tied for 9th after carding a 73 (+1) opening round. Johnson went out with a 38, but came back with a 35 on the back nine. Josh Orler is tied for 36th after shooting a 75 (+3). Orler went out with a 36 and finished with a 39. Steve Larson and Tony Mango are tied for 44th after each carded a 76 (+4). Kyle Murphy is tied for 68th after recording a 78 (+6).

The Lakers will conclude the 36-hole Great Lakes Fall Regional Monday.
