Grand Valley State's men's golf team is in third place after day one of the GLIAC Championships held at Blackberry Patch Golf Club in Coldwater, Mich. The Lakers fired a 620 after 36 holes and are trailing first place Ferris State by just four strokes. Play will conclude on Sunday for another 18 holes.
Freshman Josh Orler is leading the way for the Lakers after shooting a first day score of 154 (77, 77), which ties him for seventh place overall. Sophomore Kyle Murphy is tied for 10th with a 155 (82, 73), while freshman Tony Mango tallied a 157 (79, 78). Junior Jacob Hamilton posted a two round score of 158 (79, 79) and freshman Matt Johnson rounded out the scoring for GVSU with a 165 (78, 87).
