Rochester, Mich. - Grand Valley State captured third-place at the Golden Grizzly Invitational held at Katke-Cousins Golf Course. GVSU shot a three-round total of 926, including a final round 303. Laker junior Kevin Kremer continued his sizzling play with a second place finish in the individual results. Kremer shot a 224, just one shot back of medalist Brian Stuard of Oakland.
Kremer entered the final round six shots out of first place, but fired a two-under par 70 to make a push for medalist honors. Kremer's 70 was the low round of the tourney. Brad Franz was 12th with a three-round 233, while Casey Smits tied for 13th with a 234. Glenn Desgranges finished tied for 15th at 235.
The Grand Valley State men's team combined with the GVSU women's team to capture the overall tournament title. The men's third-place finish was scored with the women's second-place finish to record the low total of seven-team tournament. The Laker women and men totalled 1,597, while Oakland was second with 1,616.
