Grand Valley State leads the GLIAC Tournament after the first round with a team score of 292. The tournament is being played at the Currie Municipal Golf Course in Midland, Mich. GVSU is ahead of second place Findlay by two strokes. Rounds two and three will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 8.
Junior Tony Mango is leading the tournament after firing a 70 in the first round. Mango shot a 34 on the front nine, followed by a 36 on the back nine. Senior Kyle Murphy is tied for second place with a 72, while sophomore Matt Johnson shot a 73, tying him for sixth place. Junior Josh Orler recorded a 77 to tie him for 27th place and senior Steve Larson fired a 78 good for a tie for 33rd place.
