Grand Valley State won the Wayne State Invitational as they shot a two day total of 607. GVSU tallied a 301 on day one and a 306 on day two. The Lakers edged out Ferris State (609) by two strokes.

Junior Steve Larson led the Lakers with a 145 (72, 73), finishing second overall. Sophomore Josh Orler finished in seventh place as he shot a 75 both times. Sophomore Tony Mango placed 14th (76, 78) with a 154, while senior Gary Witkowski tied for 22nd, shooting a 158 (78, 80). Junior Kyle Murphy rounded out the scoring for the Lakers as he tied for 36th with a 167 (86, 81).

The Lakers will play at the Ferris State Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18.
