HERSHEY, Pa. - Grand Valley State junior golfer Chris Cunningham (Milford, Mich.) had another successful day at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship, moving up 20 spots in to a tie for 34th on the individual leaderboard after a second-round 74 on Tuesday (May 21).
Cunningham was one of the biggest movers on day two of competition. After being in a tie for 54th with his first-round 76, Cunningham moved up 20 spots on day two with a three-over 74.
Starting on the back nine, Cunningham was playing one-under golf through the first six holes and finished his first nine holes of the day at even par, including birdies at 11 and 14.
On the back nine (front nine of the course), Cunningham birdied hole #4 and finished the round at three-over.
His two-round total of 150 (+8) is only six shots out of the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.
Cunningham is fifth on the leaderboard among all players who are competing as individuals only.
Leading the way after round two of play is Rob Damschen of California State-Stanislaus. He used a second-round 68 and sits at 138 (-4) for the tournament. Barry leads the team competition by 10 strokes over Nova Southeastern.
Wednesday (May 22) will be the conclusion of individual play for the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship.
