Joplin, Mo. - The Grand Valley State men's golf team placed fourth at the NCAA DII Great Lakes Super Regional in Joplin, Missouri at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club. GVSU fired a three-round total of 891. The Laker men's golf program has appeared in six straight NCAA Tournaments.
Junior Josh Orler finished tied for fifth with a three-round total of 217. Orler carded an opening day -2 70, followed by a +3 75 and a final round of even par 72. Freshman Matt Malloure finished tied for ninth with a 220 (+4), moving up seven spots with a third-round 73 (+1). Malloure opened with a 74, followed by a second-round 73. Senior Kyle Murphy tied for 33rd with a three-day total of 228. Murphy entered the final round in seventh at +1, but a final round 83 dropped Murphy to 33rd. Sophomore Matt Johnson carded a three-round total of 230, while senior Steve Larson shot a 233.
