Grand Valley State slipped a spot, falling to third place, after the second day of the NCAA Division II Men's Central/Great Lakes Super Regional held at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Mo. GVSU shot a 296 on Tuesday, which combined with a first round score of 291 gives the Lakers a 587 through two rounds. Ferris State leads the competition with 574, while Indianapolis is in second place with a 585.
Senior Kyle Murphy is tied for seventh place after the two rounds as he has posted a 145 (73, 72). Junior Josh Orler shot a 75 today, coupled with his 70 from yesterday, also ties him for seventh place with a 145. Freshman Matt Malloure is tied for 16th place, firing a 147 (74, 73). Sophomore Matt Johnson has tallied a two round score of 150 (74, 76), tying him for 27th place. Senior Steve Larson is tied for 44th place after shooting a 77 in both rounds for a total of 154.
The Lakers must take first place in order to advance to the NCAA National Championships on May 22-25 at The Meadows in Allendale, Michigan. The finals will be hosted by Grand Valley State University.
