Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State is tied for eighth with an opening round score of 296 (+12) at the NCAA DII Midwest/South Central Super Regional being held at the Meadows Golf Course. Wayne State leads the way with a -6 278, followed by Central Missouri (287/+3), Northeastern State (291/+7), St. Edward's (292/+8), Ferris State (292/+8), Washburn (294/+10), Central Oklahoma (295/+11) and Missouri Southern State (296/+12). Day two of the 54-hole tourney will begin Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA DII National Championships.

Tyler Hering carded a -2 (69) and is tied for third, while Ben Brooks shot a +2 73. Matt Malloure and Matt Johnson each shot a +6 77, while Josh Burt carded a +9 80. Grand Valley State will tee off at 12 noon Tuesday.
