Grand Valley State's men's golf team finished in third place at the NCAA Division II Men's Great Lakes Superior Regional at the Prairie Bluff Golf Club in Lockport, Ill. The Lakers shot a one under par on Wednesday to post a three day score of 888, just five strokes shy of winner Saginaw Valley State (883). Northern Kentucky finished second with an 885.

Junior Steve Larson won the individual title posting a three round score of 211, five strokes under par. He recorded four birdies and 13 pars on the day. Sophomore Josh Orler (73, 73, 73) tied for fifth place overall with a score of 218. Senior Jake Hamilton (80, 79, 73) fired his best round of the tournament with a 73 on Wednesday. He finished tied for 35th with a 232. Sophomore Tony Mango also improved by seven strokes as he posted a 73 in the final round as well. Mango ended the three rounds with a 232, which also tied him for 35th place. Junior Kyle Murphy shot a 237 (78, 77, 82) for a three round score of 237.
