St. Joseph, Missouri - Grand Valley State fired a second round 303 to climb into second place at the NCAA DII Great Lakes Super Regional at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri. Northern Kentucky leads the Great Lakes Super Regional with a 36-hole total of 590, while the Lakers are 18 shots back with a 608. GVSU, NKU and Northwood will play in the final groups Wednesday for the final 18 holes.
Freshman Tony Mango (Milford, Mich.) leads the way for the Lakers with a 36-hole total of 149 (72-77) which leaves him tied for fifth. Sophomore Steve Larson (Manistique, Mich.) is tied for 13th with a two-round total of 151 (74-77), while freshman Josh Orler (Mason, Mich.) is tied for 18th with a 153 (79-74). Sophomore Kyle Murphy (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Kentwood) is tied for 33rd with a two-day total of 159 (80-79) and freshman Mark Pawlowski (Mason, Mich.) is tied for 38th with a 161 (86-75).
