Grand Valley State's men's golf team is in fourth place after shooting a 21 over par score of 305 after day one of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Super Regional Championship in St. Joseph, Mo. Northern Kentucky is leading after the first round with a score of 293, Wayne State is in second place (301) and Wisconsin-Parkside is in third, ahead of the Lakers by just one stroke (304).
Leading the way for GVSU, was freshman Tony Mango who is in fourth place after shooting a one over par, 72. Sophomore Steve Larson is tied for seventh place with a 74, while freshman Josh Orler is tied for 25th with a 79. Sophomore Kyle Murphy shot an 80 and is tied for 30th place and freshman Mark Pawlowski recorded an 86 in the first round.
Round two will be played on Tuesday, May 3 and the tournament will conclude with a final round of 18 holes on Wednesday, May 4.
