The Grand Valley State Men's Golf team closed out it's 2002-03 regular season this past weekend (Apr. 26-27). The Lakers placed second in a six team invitational hosted by Hillsdale College at The Blackberry Patch Golf Club in Coldwater, Mich. Grand Valley started the second day of the invitational in forth place, having recorded a score of 320 the day before. On day two, the Lakers forged their way to the top of the pack by cutting twenty-three strokes off of the previous day's score, to complete the invitational with a second place total of 617.

Individually for the Laker's, Bill Schmidt and Kevin Kremer tied for second place with matching scores of 151 (+7). Casey Smits completed the course with a 157 (+13) to place in a three-way tie for eleventh place.

The GVSU Men's Golf Team will now move on to the NCAA Super Regionals, May 5-7, 2003 in Boliver, MO.
