Auburn, Ind. - Grand Valley State freshman Josh Orler carded a six-under par 138 to take medalist honors at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Tournament #3 Arpil 16-17. Orler led the Lakers to a second-place team finish with a two-round total of 574, just one shot back of Wayne State's 573. Grand Valley State will next participate in the NCAA DII Great Lakes Super Regional May 2,3, and 4 in St. Joseph's, Missouri. The top team from that eight-team Super Regional advances to the NCAA DII National Championship May 17-20 in Savannah, Georgia.
Following Orler's six-under par 138 (70-68), Steve Larson placed eighth with a one-under par 143. Kyle Murphy finished T-17 with a 146, including a two-under 70 for the final round. Mark Pawlowski shot a three-over par 147, while Tony Mango rounded out the Laker lineup with a 150 (T-38).
