Lakers Win Ashland Invitational By Nine Strokes

Grand Valley State's men's golf team won the Ashland University Invitational by nine strokes, tallying a one-day total of 300. All five of the Lakers finished within the top eight spots. GVSU will travel to Findlay, Ohio for a two-day tournament on April 9-10.

Steve Larson was GVSU's top finisher, tallying a score of 74 for a third place finish. Kevin Kremer and Bill Schmidt both tied for fifth place, shooting a one-day score of 75. Glenn Desgrainge and Jake Hamilton each shot a 76, tying for an eighth place finish.

Also competing for the Lakers as individuals were Kyle Murphy who finished with a score of 79 (T17th place) and Chris Johnson who recorded a score of 80, which tied for 29th place.
