Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State finished in a tie for third at the NCAA Regional Qualifier Tournament in Kentucky over the weekend after shooting 623 in the two day event. The Lakers shot 312 after day one and finished out with a 311 in the second day of action to tie with Lewis. Bellarmine won the tournament after shooting 619. Senior Kevin Kremer led GVSU as he shot 151, which placed him fifth, while Brad Franz shot 152 and ended up in sole possesion of 10th.

This is the second regional tournament of the year. GVSU won the first regional qualifier in the fall by 12 strokes. This is also the second tournament of the spring as the Lakers placed third at the Tusculum College Invitational on March 8-9.

Casey Smits and Jacob Hamilton finished out the scoring for GVSU as they shot 156 and 164, respectively.

The Lakers next tournament will be the Grand Canyon/Thunderbird Invitational in Pheonix, Arizona on April 7-8.
