Grand Valley State's men's golf team participated in the Regional Qualifier #2 in Falls of Rough, Kent. Due to poor weather conditions, the tournament was condensed to just one round. The Lakers tallied a score of 313 for a fourth place finish, just one stroke shy of second place. Saginaw Valley State claimed top honors with a score of 308, while Northern Kentucky and Northwood tied for second place with a one-round score of 312.
Junior Bill Schmidt finished tied for fifth place with a score of 75, while sophomore Jacob Hamilton and senior Kevin Kremer both tied for 19th with a one-round score of 79. Sophomore Kyle Murphy tied for 28th, shooting an 80 and Steve Larson rounded out the scoring for the Lakers, tying for 39th place with an 81.
Grand Valley will travel to Ashland, Ohio for the Ashland University Invitational on April 4-5.
