Grand Valley State's men's golf team started off their spring season by tying for second at the Tusculum Invitational Greeneville, Tenn. Senior Kevin Kremer finished in second place as an indivdual, just one-stroke out of first place.

GVSU was in seventh place after shooting a 314 on day one. The Lakers shot a 290 on day-two to move up to second place. Kremer shot a two-day total 144 (75, 69) for second place, while Kyle Murphy tied for ninth place after recording a 77 and 73. Steve Larson finished tied for 22nd place with a two-day score of 155 (82, 73) and Bill Schmidt tied for 24th place with a score of 156 (81, 75).

The Lakers will travel to Falls of Rough, Kent. for the NCAA Regional Qualifier #2 on March 20-21, 2004.
