Allendale, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's golf team placed third at the Florida Tech Spring Tournament with a three-round total of 930. Johnson & Wales (Fla.) took top honors with a 913, followed by Brevard (Fla.) College (922). Sophomore Steve Larson (Manistique, Mich.) finished fourth with a 10-over par 226, while freshman Tony Mango (Milford, Mich.) was 18th with a 238. Freshman Josh Orler (Mason, Mich.) and sophomore Kyle Murphy (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) tied for 21st with a 24-over par 240, while freshman Matt Johnson (Haslett, Mich.) was 24th with a three-round total of 241.

The Laker men's golf team will head to North Carolina to compete in the Catawba College Invitational March 7-9.
