Shooks Captures GLIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week Honor

Men's Golf Wins Second Straight Tournament
Senior Travis Shooks wins the individual title with a four-under 140
2009-10: Recorded four top-25 finishes during the year...Highest finish was at the Findlay Spring Invitational (4/17), as he shot a 153 (+9) with the Lakers taking home the team title...Placed ninth at the Al Watrous Memorial Tournament (9/13) with a 216 (E), after rounds of 71-74-71...Captured a 12th place finish at the Great Lakes Regional #3 (4/11) with a 147 (+3)...Finished 22nd at the Great Lakes Region Invitational (9/21) with a 146 (+2)...Also placed in a tie for 31st at the Motor City Invitational (10/12) with a 229 (+16).
High School: Played one year at Grand Rapids Community College under head coach Bruce VandenBeldt...Prepped at Kenowa Hills High School under head coach Roger Perkins...Earned Ping All-American honors in 2009...Tabbed as an all-conference selection twice and notched all-state honors for one year at Kenowa Hills...Also served as team captain, while being named team most valuable player and "Most Improved"...Won a regional championship during his time at Kenowa Hills.
