Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State senior QB Curt Anes earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Lakers to a 50-13 victory over Indianapolis last week. Anes completed 23-of-35 passes for 314 yards and three TDs, while rushing for 40 yards on five carries on Saturday. Anes totalled a season-high 354 yards of total offense during a steady rain. The Lakers are 9-0 on the season and 8-0 in conference play. #1 GVSU hosts #19 Findlay on Saturday at 1:00 pm with the winner taking the GLIAC championship.
Anes has thrown for 9,197 yards and 95 touchdowns in his career. Curt, last year's runner up for the Harlon Hill Trophy, leads the GLIAC in pass efficiency with a 164 rating and yardage averaging 256.4 per game.
The Lakers enter the matchup with Findlay riding a 25 game regular season winning streak. GVSU has also won 23 straight GLIAC games and 26 straight games that Anes has started for the Lakers.
