Allendale, Mich. - Two-time NCAA DII NCAA National Champion Grand Valley State will be making its forth straight playoff appearance starting Saturday (Nov. 13) at Winona State (Minn.). GVSU enters play in the Northwest Region as the number six seed. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (ET).

Grand Valley State is 8-2 overall and had to win its final two regular season games to have a chance for a playoff berth. The Lakers are coming off a 24-7 victory over the top seeded team in the Northwest Region, Michigan Tech, last Saturday before a crowd of 50,123 in Michigan Stadium.

Winona State is seeded third in the Northwest Region and enters the 2004 playoffs with a 10-1 mark and champions of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Grand Valley State is 55-4 in its last 59 games and the GVSU senior class is 49-4 in their four-year careers. The Lakers are also 11-1 in the last 12 playoff games, including eight straight wins and two straight NCAA DII National Chamionships.

Michigan Tech (9-1) is the Northwest Regions top seed, followed by Northwood (10-1), Winona State (10-1), St. Cloud State (8-2), North Dakota (8-2) and Grand Valley State (8-2).
