Allendale, Mich. - The GVSU Athletic Ticket Office still has single-game tickets available for all home games of the upcoming 2010 season. The #2 Lakers will host six home games this season, including the nationally televised home opener against #13 West Texas A&M. A new era in Laker football history begins in 2010 as Matt Mitchell begins his reign as the seventh head coach in school history.
"With all the anticipation of a national power visiting Allendale and with the excitement of a new coach, the West Texas A&M game could be another record crowd," said Andy Fry, Ticket and Fan Development Manager. On Sept. 12, 2009, Laker fans set a school record with the largest crowd in Lubbers Stadium history, as 16,467 fans saw GVSU topple Saginaw Valley State by a 38-7 score. "We haven't sold out yet for the West Texas A&M game, but as football creeps back into the consciousness of our students and fans, we expect that it will be another packed house," continued Fry.
