Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State's 2007 11-game football schedule features five games at Lubbers Stadium, with an additional home game, The Fall Classic presented by Centennial Wireless, set for Fifth/Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, Michigan. GVSU enters the 2007 season with college football's longest winning streak (28 games).
GVSU will open the season on Thursday, August 30 with a non-conference tilt versus St. Joseph's College. The Lakers will attempt to keep their record perfect (6-0) versus the Pumas in the all-time series. Grand Valley State will hit the road for the GLIAC opener at Ashland the following week (Sept. 8), and then return home for a Sept. 15 contest versus Findlay.
GVSU will then make the long haul to Michigan Tech on Sept. 22. The Lakers are 9-1 versus the Huskies in Houghton, Michigan. Fifth/Third Ballpark in Comstock Park will play host to the Fall Classic presented by Centennial Wireless as the Lakers entertain the Wayne State Warriors at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29. The Fall Classic will be the first-ever football game played at Fifth/Third Ballpark. Mercyhurst, who is still searching for its first win versus GVSU, will entertain the Lakers on Oct. 6. Grand Valley State will return home for an Oct. 13 Homecoming game against Indianapolis at Lubbers Stadium, with a trip to Northwood on Oct. 20 to follow. Grand Valley State will entertain West Michigan rival Ferris State in the annual Anchor Bone Trophy game on Oct. 27.
The Lakers will close the regular season with a trip to University Center and a GLIAC tilt versus Saginaw Valley State on Nov. 3, before returning home for the regular season finale on Nov. 10 versus Northern Michigan.
