Allendale, Mich. - The Grand Valley State football program added four student-athletes for the winter semester head coach Chuck Martin announced Tuesday. Defensive Lineman Keioshe Jones (Venice, Calif./West L.A. College), linebacker Mike Lawrence (Brighton, Mich./Bowling Green State), LB Cam Bramer (Olivet, Mich./Central Michigan) and defensive back Jeff Alexander (Battle Creek, Mich./Central) have joined the Lakers.
Jones (6-2, 305) will battle for playing time on the defensive front for the Lakers. He tallied 60 tackles as a sophomore at West Los Angeles College in 2006 and was a two-time all-conference pick in high school. Lawrence (6-3, 235) will join the GVSU linebacking unit where three starters graduated and two returnees are coming off knee injuries. Lawrence earned a letter at Bowling Green as a redshirt freshman. Bramer (6-1, 220) is a versatile athlete who ran for nearly 2,000 yards at Olivet High School as a senior, while Alexander spent a year at the Air Force Academy prep school before transferring to Grand Valley State.
Grand Valley State opens the 2008 season Saturay, Sept. 6 versus the University of Indianapolis at Lubbers Stadium.
