Pat Welsh enters his third year on the Grand Valley State football staff, but his first as a graduate assistant. Welsh, who will be working as a defensive assistant in 2010, spent the 2008 and 2009 season's working as a student assistant.
Welsh is a 2010 graduate from Grand Valley State with a degree in physical education and an emphasis in sports leadership.
Welsh coached at Whitehall High School from 2005-2007.
