Prior to GVSU: 2002: Started all eight games played...Notched 27 tackles, including seven tackles for loss...Graduated from Utah State with a degree in criminal justice and did not use his final year of athletic eligibility.

2001: Started all 11 games on the interior defensive line ...Tallied 15 tackles, two tackles for loss and one QB sack...Picked off a pass and returned it 20 yards...Blocked a field goal attempt versus Utah...Recorded three tackles vs. Utah and Fresno State.

2000: Started eight games of nine played as a redshirt freshman...Third-leading tackler among defensive linemen with 36 total tackles...Tallied 10 tackles for loss and three QB sacks...Tallied nine tackles vs. Idaho and eight the following week vs. Arkansas State.

1999: Redshirted.

High School: Prepped at Huenene High School...Earned all-league, all-county, all-region and all-CIF honors as a senior...Started three years as a defensive tackle and offensive lineman...Also wrestled and competed in track & field.

Personal: Son of Baltazar and Candelaria Tapia...Married the former Leilagi F. Tuitama...Together, the couple has two children, Taimalie and Talalelei...Enjoys playing with his kids, football and movies.
