Prior to GVSU: Played one season at Akron, rushing for 57 yards on 28 carries and catching two passes for 17 yards in 2009...Redshirted in 2008.
High School: Prepped at Farmington Hills Harrison under head coach John Herrington...As a senior, ran for 1,578 yards and 20 touchdowns while catching 42 passes for 500 yards and eight touchdowns...On defense, he had 51 tackles, three sacks, and three interceptions...As a junior, he ran for 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns while collecting 33 tackles and three interceptions on defense...Named Second Team All-State as a junior and senior as well as all-city, all-area, all-metro, and All-OAA conference.
Personal: Son of Norman and Tammy Shuford...Communications major...Enjoys hanging out with friends, rapping, and going to church.
