High School: Prepped at Zeeland East High School under head coach Derek Pennington...As a senior, he had 66 total tackles and three fumble recoveries...Played tight end as a freshman and sophomore and caught 43 passes for 450 yards and six touchdowns...Named special mention All-State by the Associated Press for Divisions 3-4 and named Division 3 All-State by the Detroit Free Press...Also named All-State honorable mention in Division 3-4 by the Detroit News...Earned a nod on the Grand Rapids Press Dream Team at defensive line...Named All-Area by the Holland Sentinel at offensive line.
