Allendale, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's basketball team will be holding tryouts on September 29th in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena, with the tryout lasting from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. All interested players must sign up in the men's basketball offices, located in 163 Fieldhouse.

All players that try out must have a physical within the past six months. For further information, call assistant coach Terrance McGee at (616) 331-2159.

Last season, the Lakers finished 22-9, including a 16-6 conference record and were champions of the GLIAC North Division. GVSU advanced to the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament and dropped a 78-76 overtime battle in the NCAA Midwest Regional semifinals to eventual regional champion, Saint Joseph's. The Lakers open the 2010-11 season with an exhibition game against the defending NIT Champions, Dayton, in Ohio on Nov. 2.
