Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State fifth-year head coach Ric Wesley announced the signing of guards Breland Hogan (Taylor, Mich./John F. Kennedy) and Tony Peters (Middletown, Ohio) to attend and play basketball at Grand Valley State beginning in 2009. Hogan and Peters are the third and fourth Laker signees for the 2009-10 recruiting class.

"We are excited about the additions of Breland Hogan and Tony Peters to our basketball program," said Wesley. "We felt that we needed to bring in one more guard and a wing player in our 2009-10 recruiting class and these two players were exactly what we were looking for in those spots," added Wesley.

Hogan (6-0, 170) averaged 22.5 points and 4.3 rebounds during his senior campaign as Taylor Kennedy finished with a 17-6 record. Taylor Kennedy advanced to the Class A District finals and won the Mega Blue Conference title during Breland's final prep campaign. Hogan was named to the 2009 All Downriver Dream Team as a senior, while also earning Class A honorable mention all-state honors. In addition, Hogan earned Detroit Free Press All-Metro West Second-Team honors and Detroit News All-Metro West honorable mention plaudits during his senior season. Peters (6-4, 185) averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists during his senior campaign. Tony was a 2009 Greater Miami Conference First-Team honoree, as well as a District 15 All-Star selection and Middletown's Most Valuable Player in 2009. Peters averaged 10.3 points as a junior and 11.6 points as a sophomore.

The Middies posted a 12-0 conference record and went 19-3 overall in Peters' senior season before being upset in the second round of the state playoffs.
