Allenale, Mich. - Grand Valley State has been selected as the #2 seed in the NCAA DII Great Lakes Regional Tournament and will play #7 seeded Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Saturday (March 11) afternoon at St. Joseph's College in Renselaer, Ind. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. (ET). Tickets can be purchased through St. Joseph's College by calling (219) 866-6386. A first round victory by the Lakers would put them in the Great Lakes Regional semifinals Sunday (March 11) at 6 p.m. (ET). The Great Lakes Regional Championship is set for Tuesday (March 14) at 8 p.m. All of the action can be heard live via the radio. WBBL-AM 1340 (Grand Rapids), WEFC-FM 97.5 (Muskegon) and WMFN-AM 640 (Grand Rapids/Zeeland) will carry all of Grand Valley State's games.

Grand Valley State is making its sixth appearance in the NCAA DII Tournament, but its first since the 2000-01 campaign. The Lakers are 2-6 all-time in NCAA DII action. Grand Valley State, 27-3 overall, defeated Ferris State 80-58 Saturday night in the GLIAC Tournament Championship game in Allendale. GVSU captured its seventh GLIAC regular season championship and its fifth tourney title.
