Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State senior guard Courtney James (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) and sophomore center Callistus Eziukwu (Muskegon, Mich.) were named to the GLIAC North Division First-Team it was announced Thursday by the league office. Eziukwu was a repeat honoree, while James earned all-league plaudits for the first time in his career. In addition, James was named to GLIAC North Division All-Defensive Team for the third time in his career, while Eziukwu earned the honor for the second straight year. Laker sophomore guard Jason Jamerson (Muncie, Ind.) was named to the GLIAC All-North Second-Team.

Eziukwu ranks 12th in the country in shooting percentage, hitting 60.6 percent from the floor (143-236). Callistus leads the Lakers in rebounding (6.8 rpg), and blocked shots (68), while ranking second in scoring (13.0), and steals (45). Eziukwu ranks third in assists (55). Eziukwu is second all-time in blocked shots at GVSU with 182 (3.2 bpg)and ranks 12th in the country in blocked shots per game (2.4). Callistus, who has four double-doubles on the year and 13 in his career, has scored in double figures 21 times this season.

James is averaging 10.1 points and 4.5 assists per game. Courtney ranks fourth all-time in assists with 441 and is just the second player in Laker basketball history to score over 1,000 points (1,083) and dish out over 400 assists (Randy Parlor - 1,542 points/405 assists). James broke the 1,000-point mark earlier this season, becoming the 22nd player in Laker history to reach that total.

Jamerson leads the squad in scoring (13.6), 3-pointers made (68), and steals (51), while ranking second in rebounding (5.1). Jason's 68 made three-pointers ranks fourth on the single-season list, just one behind Joe Modderman's 69 in 1996-97. Jamerson scored a career-high 26 points vs. Aquinas College when he hit a career-high seven three-pointers. Jason has scored in double figures 18 times this season.

Grand Valley State will host Ashland in a GLIAC Tournament semefinal Friday at 8 p.m. in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena.
