Allendale, Mich. - In their first home games after three weeks away, the Grand Valley State basketball teams will wear new throwback jerseys in a GLIAC doubleheader against visiting Lake Superior State on Thursday night (Jan. 23). The jerseys are part of Throwback Thursday in GVSU's Fieldhouse Arena, with the women's game starting at 6:00 p.m. and the men following at 8:00 p.m.

Both teams are wearing retro white uniforms provided by Adidas. The women's jerseys have a large blue number on the front, which is underneath the old Louie the Laker logo near the left shoulder. The tops of the men's uniforms display the player's number in black with 'GVSU' written in blue underneath. Both Laker teams have new white shorts with a blue design down the side.

As part of Throwback Thursday, fans are encouraged to wear retro or 1970's apparel, while 70's music will be featured throughout the doubleheaders. Fans can also go to Louie's Locker Room to purchase a t-shirt with the old Louie the Laker logo and 'GVSC' for Grand Valley State College.

After a four-game road trip, the Laker teams are looking forward to being back in Allendale. The Grand Valley State women (8-6 overall, 6-4 GLIAC) are a perfect 4-0 in the Fieldhouse Arena, while the GVSU men (11-3 overall, 7-3 GLIAC) own a 5-1 record on their home floor. Both contests should be exciting, especially the men's game, as the Lake Superior State men are 16-2 on the season and in first place in the GLIAC standings with an 8-2 record.
