Allendale, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday that Grand Valley State senior center Callistus Eziukwu has earned his second straight GLIAC North Division "Player of the Week" Award. Eziukwu helped the #2 Lakers remain perfect (18-0, 6-0) thus far this season. Over the two games he averaged 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and three blocks per game. Against Tiffin, he notched 17 points, pulled down seven rebounds and swatted three shots. Eziukwu then tallied a double-double, his fourth of the season and 22nd in his career, with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Ferris State. Eziukwu hit on 75.0 percent of this shots (15-20) for the week. He currently ranks third in the league in field goal percentage (.661) and blocked shots per game (2.17).

Eziukwu and his teammates will entertain Mercyhurst (8-8, 2-4) Thursday (Jan. 17) at 8 p.m. and #16 Gannon (14-1, 6-0) Saturday (Jan. 19) at 3 p.m. Both games will be staged at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena.
