Allendale, Mich. - Senior center Jason Bauer earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors after scoring 17 points and pulling down 12 rebounds in a 97-89 overtime victory at 17th ranked Ashland. Jason also added five assists, two steals, and was 7 of 8 from the line. Bauer ranks fourth in the conference averaging 9.1 rebounds per game and has moved into third place on GVSU's career rebounding list with 906. Bauer also leads the Lakers in scoring averaging 12.7 ppg, and assists with 48. Jason is shooting 84.6 percent from the line, and 44.6 percent from the field. The Lakers extended their winning streak to five with a 105-62 victory over Univeristy of Michigan-Dearborn on Monday, improving their record to 8-7 overall, and 3-4 in conference action.

GVSU will host West Michigan rival Ferris State on Saturday (Jan. 18) at 8 p.m. in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. Grand Valley State University will honor the 2002 NCAA Division II National Championship football team at halftime of the men's game.
