Quincy, Ill. - Senior forward Melvin White led a balanced attack as Grand Valley State claimed a 63-61 victory over Quincy Friday (Dec. 19) night. GVSU, which improves to 8-1 on the year, will play Truman State on Saturday (Dec. 20) at 6:30 p.m. (EST).

GVSU led 28-22 at the half and built its largest lead of the game (41-32) with 11:09 remaining. However, the host school hit three straight three-pointers to tie the game at 41-41. The contest remained close throughout, but GVSU hit some clutch shots and free throws down the stretch to pull off the regional victory.

Melvin White led GVSU with 13 points, while Courtney James (11), Marcus Wallace (10) and Eric Chess (10) all scored in double digits.
