Midland, Mich. - Grand Valley State fell at Northwood 88-84 in GLIAC action on Monday. The Lakers were down by five at halftime and cut the lead to two with 16 seconds left in the game but could get no closer. Northwood knocked down 17 shots from behind the arc, compared to only 7 by the GVSU. Grand Valley was led by Jason Bauer who scored 19 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. The Lakers fall to 3-8 on the year and 0-4 in the GLIAC.

Bauer knocked down 13 of 13 from the free throw line and was 3 of 4 from the floor on the night. The Lakers combined to shoot 27 of 31 (87%) from the charity stripe but it was not enough to overcome the three-point barrage from the Timberwolves.

Three other Lakers scored in double figures in the game. Courtney James scored 17 points and added six rebounds. Melvin White and Justen Naughton tallied 14 and 10 points, respectively.

GVSU hosts Rochester on Wednesday, December 18, at 8:00 pm in the GVSU Fieldhouse.
